Chelsea are expected to strengthen their squad next month in a bid to enjoy a successful second half to the season.
Benitez is mulling over which areas of his squad need reinforcing, and expects to draw up a list of targets along with Emenalo after Wednesday's Capital One Cup clash with Leeds United.
"Hopefully we have two or three days after this game where we'll have plenty of time to talk about names," he said.
"There's no formal meeting because we can chat every day. Michael is watching the training session and we talk every day - about players and how the team is doing.
"I know what Michael likes and he knows what I like and we come to an agreement."
Rafa Benitez has described it as 'fantastic' that Oscar was not happy to be left out of Chelsea's starting line-up for Sunday's Club World Cup final against Corinthians.
Oscar is set to feature in Wednesday's Capital One Cup quarter-final at Leeds United but has been used sparingly by interim manager Benitez to date, starting just three of his seven games in charge.
The Brazilian playmaker expressed his disappointment after being selected on the bench against Corinthians, but Benitez insists there is no rift with the player.
"Oscar is fine. He's a very good professional. We don't have any issue with him," he said.
"I try to manage players, especially in his position because we have Eden Hazard and Juan Mata, who can do more or less the same job.
"It's difficult for them but it's good for me because I have different problems. There are no issues or problems.
"Oscar will have a lot of time on the pitch and I'm sure he'll be a great player for the club.
"Oscar's not happy because he's not playing and that's fantastic. There would be a problem if it was the opposite."
Leeds will be Benitez's eighth game in charge since taking over 25 days ago, a hectic schedule that continues with Christmas fixtures against Aston Villa, Norwich, Everton and QPR.
"We have to win every competition if we can. We have rivalry with Leeds and we have one less competition to win after losing on Sunday," Benitez said.
"We can't just call it another game, it's a very important match for us.
"Christmas time is a crucial period because you can play so many games that will change everything."
Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is back in training but remains doubtful for Wednesday's Capital One Cup quarter-final at Leeds.
Sturridge has recovered from his hamstring injury but won't be rushed back by interim manager Rafael Benitez, who is without suspended trio John Obi Mikel, Ramires an Gary Cahill.
The ban on Cahill has been restricted to just one game by FIFA following his dismissal in the Club World Cup against Corinthians on Sunday, and the defender has also been fined £3,375.
Leeds manager Neil Warnock faces a selection dilemma.
On-loan defender Alan Tate is unavailable while fellow loanee Jerome Thomas and captain Lee Peltier are both doubtful.
Tate is cup-tied having already taken part in the competition with Swansea and he will be replaced by Jason Pearce. Leigh Bromby, Rodolph Austin, Davide Somma and Ramon Nunez all remain sidelined.
Juan Mata hopes Chelsea can bounce back from their Club World Cup disappointment and give the fans some silverware to celebrate this season.
Rafael Benitez's men were beaten 1-0 by Corinthians in Japan on Sunday but Mata is already looking forward to the next challenge and believes Chelsea can still have a successful campaign.
A trip to Leeds United in the Capital One Cup lies ahead in midweek, while there is still the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League to play for.
Writing in his blog for Grada 360, Mata insisted that Chelsea were hungry to claim as many trophies as possible.
"It's a tough moment, especially for the Chelsea fans that came to Japan and those who were supporting us from home," said the Spaniard. "Thank you so much to all of you for your unconditional support.
"I hope we can enjoy good moments and lift more trophies for the club and for you very soon. We're still playing to win four trophies and we will give everything we have to success in each of them."
"Besides, who knows, we may play this tournament again one day. That would be a very good sign."
Mata added: "Indeed, our way back home will feel much longer to us than the outbound journey, but I look forward to land in London and to play the next match.
"The world of sport is full of good and bad moments, but you always have to look ahead and keep setting new goals. And in football, the goal is always to win the next match."
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is determined to do all he can to land Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao.
TMW says Abramovich has invited Falcao to London to visit Chelsea's Cobham training facilities and take a tour of Stamford Bridge. House-hunting could also be on the agenda.
No date for the trip has been fixed, though sources say it could occur between Christmas and New Year's Day.
Abramovich is determined to sign Falcao, despite stiff competition from Real Madrid.
Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez's tactics for the Club World Cup final have been laid bare in the Brazilian press.
It is claimed the papers were rescued from the floor of Chelsea’s empty dressing room after the 1-0 defeat by Corinthians in the Club World Cup final at Yokohama’s Nissan Stadium.
They appear to show Benitez’s defensive tactics from corners and show specific instructions for key players.
Globoesporte, one of the biggest sport websites in Brazil, claim one of their journalists entered the changing room after the team had left and filtered through the rubbish to find Benitez’s tactical sheets from that final.
In one sheet, which shows Chelsea defending a corner, Ashley Cole is charged with sprinting out and preventing the short corner, while Juan Mata lurks on the edge of the area to pressurise Corinthians’ Allesandro.
In the second sheet, which shows Chelsea’s tactics at their own corner, Benitez has written in giant red writing: ‘Be aware of counter attack’ as he was obviously concerned by the pace of the Brazilians on the break.

MATCH PREVIEW
The adage that beggars can't be choosers may be alien to the billionaire Roman Abramovich, but the Chelsea owner and his staff will surely now be regarding the League Cup with more prominence than ever before.
It is one of only two trophies the club can realistically win this season, with four opportunities having already slipped by. Deposed as European champions, 13 points adrift of top spot in the Premier League, beaten in the Community Shield and European Super Cup and last weekend thwarted in their attempt to be named the best side in the world, Chelsea have suffered a succession of knockout blows.
They will not welcome a trip to Leeds to renew a fierce rivalry that ignited in the 1970s. Chelsea only returned to London on Monday afternoon after a 6,000-mile flight from Japan, and their Championship rivals are sure to be pumped up by manager Neil Warnock.
Warnock, who turned down the opportunity to manage Chelsea in 1991, has said in the past that he would "never forgive" current Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez for picking a weakened team in Liverpool's final away game of the 2006-07 Premier League season against Fulham. Liverpool lost 1-0, allowing Fulham to survive at the expense of Warnock's Sheffield United.
Warnock said: "It's one of those things that disappoints you in life and you have to get on with it really, but you get disappointments in every walk of life and I've made my feelings clear on how my feelings have been over the last few years and nothing will change that."
While Warnock was non-committal over whether he would shake Benitez's hand before kick-off, the Chelsea boss says he will comply with the traditional pre-match ritual.
Midfielder Frank Lampard acknowledged the enmity between the clubs and realises that Chelsea cannot underestimate their opponents: "There's a rivalry, we're aware of it and we have to play on the pitch with passion and do the physical side of things up there, because they're going to be right at it.
"Win this match and we're in the semi-final and with the possibility of a decent draw."
Abramovich will no doubt appreciate that positive thinking; no-one at Chelsea dare consider the alternative.
