FIVE PLAYERS UNITED NEED TOMORROW AGAINST CITY

As the clock ticks down to the ultimate showdown between Manchester United and Manchester City.
Manchester United really need to avoid defeat at the hands of their City rivals if they are to wrestle the trophy back this season. And to do that they have to win three key battles, namely; Midfield Battle, The battle of who controls the tempo of the game(Possession) and the Set piece battle (Who gets more and concedes less).
If United are to get anything from this battles Five players will be very instrumental to this course.
Soccer4life draws a list of those Five players United need to influence the outcome of tomorrow's fixture

5. CHRIS SMALLING (CB)
Smalling at center back is a very compose defender a direct replacement for the ageing Rio Ferdinand.
He doesn't give the ball away cheaply in defence and never rushes into making useless Challenges in the box.

In modern football, good teams build up play from the back and Smalling is very good at doing that.
Smalling also has a good goal scoring reputation against City and will play a part if United are to control the tempo of the game from the back.

4. DARREN FLECTHER (MC)
Though Flecther hasn't had enough games under his belt this season and may seem to still be on the recovery road from the illness that saw Him out for a long time.
United certainly have to risk playing him, because His intelligence and energy will be darely needed in the Midfield.
Flecther does His man marking and closing down so neatly that He doesn't giving away so many fouls in a match.
He is very confident in possession and also a threat from set piece.
United certainly need him.

3. ASHELY YOUNG (LWF)
Young may not be performing so excellent this season, not being able to deliver quality balls into the goal area of the opponents half, all that can be forgotten for now, because Young's presence on the pitch will keep City's defence on their toes and on the look out for any form of diving that will cost them darely.
And so that will make them to likely avoid any form of contact with Young, and United can Capitalise on that and use Young's side of the pitch to mount all the pressure on the City defence.
Secondly with Young on the pitch, United are sure to get a high share of the free kicks.
What they only have to do is to pray He gets them in dangerous positions.

2. RYAN GIGGS (MC)
Age may not longer be on His side for this sort of fixtures and his lack of marking ability will make Giggs less favourable to start in tomorrow's game.
But believe experience is the best friend of Ryan Giggs at the moment.
Giggs on his good day, will be a perfect addition to a United 3 man central midfield along side, Darren Flecther and Michael Carrick.
Possession wise, Ryan Giggs will play a vital role in the United Midfield, His ability to read the game and to retain possession will be key.
United really needs to take advantage of His presence on the pitch when He is still filled with energy before he will eventually get tired and be substituted.

1. MICHAEL CARRICK (MC)
Carrick currently is enjoying one of His finest season in the United shirt. His rise in form have seen him return to the English National Team under the management of Roy Hogdson.
Carrick rediscovered tireless energy in Midfield will be required to help close down City players and choke up those tiny spaces in and around the Midfield.
His ability to retain possession under pressure supported with his neat tackles makes Him a much needed player in the United Line up tomorrow if they are to get anything from this particular Derby.
With this 5 players at their best and on the pitch tomorrow, I look no further than United to take all 3 points at the Etihad stadium.

Predicted United Line up: De Gea, Rafael, Evans, Smalling, Evra, Carrick, Flecther, Giggs, Young, Rooney, Van Persie

Predicted Score: Manchester city 1 - 2 Manchester United
