MICHU VS VAN PERSIE

The English Premier League continues to be one of Europe's best league and its never short of Goals and excitement.
The 2012/2013 season has already produced a lot of goals and some quality moments worth remembering.
Though goals haven't been a problem this season, two strikers have distinguished themselves from the rest by scoring more goals than any other player in the League.
Manchester United Robin Van Persie and Swansea Christian Michu have both scored a total of 12goals and 17 league appearances this season.

Soccer4life takes a look at this two strikers who have proved to be very vital for their respective teams.
CHRISTIAN MICHU
Miguel PĂ©rez Cuesta born 21 March 1986, also known as Michu, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Swansea City in the Premier League, as an attacking midfielder and also as a striker.
He started playing for Oviedo, subsequently representing Celta and Rayo Vallecano, making his La Liga debuts with the latter in 2011–12.
On 20 July 2012 Michu signed a three-year contract with Premier League side Swansea City, for a fee of £2 million.Following the departure of Gylfi Sigurdsson, the club were looking for someone to fill the gap behind the striker in their 4–2–3–1 formation;however, he was given the number 9 shirt upon his transfer, and this saw him in coming games playing as a striker.

On his league debut on 18 August, Michu scored twice and provided an assist for Scott Sinclair in a 5–0 away win against Queens Park Rangers. The first of his goals was also the first scored in the new top flight season, and he later described his debut as "incredible".
Michu stayed atop the goalscoring charts by netting the second in a 3–0 home defeat of West Ham United on 25 August, and the second in the 2–2 draw against Sunderland the following matchday. He scored a late double against Arsenal at the Emirates on 1 December (2–0 win), sending Swansea to seventh in the table. Michu can also play as central midfielder.

ROBIN VAN PERSIE
Little was known about Robin van Persie when he came onto Arsene Wenger's radar in 2004, but he has emerged into one of the best strikers in the world for club and country.
A young forward with Feyenoord, Van Persie had only been playing in the Eredivisie club's first-team for a couple of seasons before opting to move to London for a paltry £2.75 million. Wenger transformed him from a left-winger to a forward and the result was impressive.Handed his international debut with Netherlands in the summer of 2005, by the time the 2006 World Cup came around, Van Persie had forced his way into the Dutch first team. Initially injuries plagued his time with Arsenal, though his disciplinary problems abated, and his breakthrough came the season after his decent showing at Euro 2008 when he was named the club's player of the season after scoring 20 goals in 44 appearances. But just as he was drawing comparisons with some of the best strikers in Europe after operating as the central striker in Arsenal's 4-3-3 formation, Van Persie suffered a serious injury in a friendly international against Italy in November 2009 that ruled him out for five months. Battling back once more, he helped to lead Netherlands to the final of the 2010 World Cup and his form in 2011-12 as club captain was among the best in the world as he smashed 26 league goals. However, come the end of the season, RVP announced that he would not be signing a new contract with the club and wanted to move on.
A week ahead of the new season he agreed terms with Manchester United over a £20m move.
On 15 August 2012, Arsenal announced they had agreed terms with Manchester United for his transfer, but Van Persie had yet to agree personal terms with the club. On 17 August, Van Persie transferred to Manchester United for an initial £24 million, signing a four-year contract. He made his debut on 20 August, coming on as a 68th-minute substitute for Danny Welbeck in a 1–0 loss to Everton. Five days later, with his first shot for the club, he scored his first Manchester United goal, United's first in a 3–2 victory over Fulham. On 2 September 2012, he scored his first hat-trick for United in another 3–2 victory over Southampton, helping pull United back from a 2–1 deficit; his third goal was his 100th in the Premier League.Van Persie netted a late penalty on 23 September to give United a 2–1 away win at Anfield against Liverpool. Van Persie opened his European account with the club, scoring a brace in the 2–1 away win against CFR Cluj, with both goals assisted by Wayne Rooney. On 20 October, Van Persie scored United's second goal in a 4–2 win over Stoke City, opening up his body and guiding a cross into the far corner with his left foot. In the next Premier League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Van Persie scored his 7th goal in the league, with a sidefoot finish from Antonio Valencia's driven cross to put United 2–0 up. He also played a part in the first goal, firing a shot against the post which cannoned off David Luiz and into the net, in a 3–2 United win. On 3 November, Van Persie scored against his former club Arsenal in a 2–1 victory. This meant that he had scored against all 20 current Premier League clubs. On 9 December, Van Persie scored a last minute winner from a free kick in a 3-2 victory over Manchester City, his Manchester Derby debut. This goal ended City's unbeaten Premier League record in the 2012-13 season and also their unbeaten home record extending into the previous season.
