THE NEXT BIG THING IN AMERICAN FOOTBALL?

Since the 2002 World Cup were the US Men National team had a memorable outing, they have gone on to produce very good Footballers(Soccer players) notably Donovan, Cobi Jones, McBride, and now Clint Dempsey.
As the US enter another era of producing a new generation of Super Stars who will put on the country's Jersey for years to come, there seem to be one name on every ones lips, who will be the next big thing in American Football.
And that player is no other than JUAN AGUDELO.
Juan Sebastián Agudelo (born November 23, 1992 in Manizales) is a Colombian-born American soccer player. He currently plays for Chivas USA in Major League Soccer and United States Men's National Soccer Team as a striker.
Internationally, Agudelo has represented the United States youth program at the Under-17, Under-20, and Under-23 levels. He made his debut for the senior national team against South Africa on November 17, 2010, scoring the only goal of the match.
Agudelo began his career with the New York Red Bull Academy and quickly established himself as one of the more skilled prospects at the club. In 2009 he was offered a chance to join the junior team but decided to accept a trial with Colombian side Millonarios in 2010.
On March 26, 2010, Agudelo officially joined the New York Red Bulls. He made his professional debut on April 27, 2010, in a U.S. Open Cup game against Philadelphia Union. Agudelo made his MLS debut against Real Salt Lake October 9, 2010, entering in the 85th minute in a match that ended in a scoreless draw. He scored his first professional goal on March 19, 2011, in the Red Bulls' 2011 MLS season opener, a 1–0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC.
Agudelo represented the United States at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup. In 2010, he also debuted for the United States Under-20 side. On January 23, 2010, he scored the equalizing goal for the United States Under-20 national team in a 1–1 draw with Brazil. On November 11, 2010, Agudelo was called up to the United States senior national side for the first time as part of an 18-man roster for a match against South Africa on November 17 in Cape Town. He made his debut for the team coming on against South Africa in the Nelson Mandela Challenge wearing the number 17 shirt. Agudelo scored the only goal of the game on a volley that went in off the underside of the crossbar. In doing so, he became the youngest player in national team history to score in a senior game. On January 22. 2011, Agudelo drew the penalty that led to the USA's only goal of the match in a 1–1 draw against Chile. In an international friendly on March 26, 2011, he scored the equalizer in a 1–1 draw against Argentina. After he scored this goal against the Argentina national football team
Agudelo was traded to Chivas USA on May 17, 2012 in exchange for defender Heath Pearce, allocation money, and future considerations. The latter was reported to be a portion of any transfer fee that Chivas USA receives from selling Agudelo. Following the 2012 Major League Soccer season, Agudelo was invited to train with Celtic, with manager Neil Lennon planning to hold signing talks with the forward during the MLS close-season break. Following his training stint with Celtic, Agudelo joined West Ham United for a training stint also.
There’s also no doubt about Agudelo’s natural gifts.
Although he is still only 20 years old, which could certainly explain some of his inconsistency over the past two years, Agudelo’s technical skill and physical strength have never been in doubt. His youth can also be looked at as a strength because Agudelo could potentially play in four World Cups. If Agudelo played in World Cup 2026, he would be 33 years old.
Additionally, the U.S. currently has no clear-cut No. 9.
Clint Dempsey prefers to play slightly underneath the main striker, a position that Klinsmann also prefers to play Dempsey in. Herculez Gomez is a solid, yet unspectacular, forward. Jozy Altidore, despite his solid club form, has been underwhelming with the USMNT over the past 18 months. Klinsmann has also shown a hesitancy, for whatever reason, to start Terrence Boyd, despite Boyd’s frequent call-ups.
Agudelo is in prime position to show Klinsmann he can get the job done and also make that postion his for years to come.
The biggest hurdle still remaining for Agudelo is his club situation. Chivas USA is widely considered one of the worst teams in Major League Soccer. Not only does the team not perform on the field, but the organization is rife with management problems and is on its eighth head coach in 12 years.
Agudelo's form for Chivas saw him name in the MLS Team of the week recently and he currently has 2 goals in 4 games to his credit.
There is no doubt if given the right guidance, and remain injury free, the people of America will have a reason to smile and put their confidence in Agudelo.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT JUAN AGUDELO AND CAN HE FIRE USMNT FORWARD?
