UNITED MAY HAVE SOMEHOW MADE THE BEST DEAL OF THE SUMMER

United fans may have been left frustrated that they were only able to secure a single player before the transfer window was shut closed at 11:59pm after being linked with players such as Atletico Bilbao's Ander Herrera and Real Madrid's Fabio Conetrao. But in reality excluding the fact that is lone piece of business made the fans have a sense of being inferior taking in consideration the way their title rivals and fellow contenders faired in the market this summer. With Manchester city being able to capture a host of players, so too did Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal taking everyone by surprise as they were able to sign the player every united fan wished they had Mesut Ozil. Manchester United got exactly what they needed in the team and what they lacked the most.

I strongly doubt if any united fans would have complain of their team not having a good Goal keeper, because at the moment the team have one of the best goal keeper in the league who is not only good at making quick reflex saves with his hands but also with his legs. And behind him they also have a good goal keeper in Andres Lindergard a keeper many clubs would wish they had.
Coming over to the defence. first in the center half position, united can boast of having a very strong and reliable back two in the persons of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic. Not too many clubs in europe can boast of that. Many may argue that age is no longer on their side, believe me looking at their performances even at their age, i can tell you that United had other more pressing needs than worrying about the future of the pair.
Even if age was to be a factor, united have an Arsenal of younger defenders whom too can boast of having caps for their nation teams. With Jonny Evans ever present in the National team of Northern Ireland, Chris Smalling and Phi Jones who also have on various occasions woren the white or red jersery of the three lions of England.
Now coming to the wing backs. On the right side of the four man United defence, United seem not to have a problem in that part of the pitch with the ever realiable Rafeal still young and earger to play, though is still sidelined at the moment due to an hamstring injury. To deputise him is the utility man Phil Jones who too can offer enough energy on the right flank as he dashes up and down the flank to support the team in attack and also help in winning the ball back whenever they loose it. Only few teams can also boast of have a stronger right back in the country.
Then over to the left flank, United were linked all summer with Everton mr realiable Leigton Baines and also narrowly missed out on Fabio Conetrao on the last day of the transfer window. Despite all the rumours and speculations many United fans have always been and are still of the opinion that another left back wasn't neccesary since the fan favourite Patrice Evra is still very much up and doing. Behind him is another adventurer Alex Buttner who has the abilty to drive united forward from the back with his surging runs and is blessed with some nice footwork which makes him a threat when attacking his opposing full back.
Though Patrice Evra sometimes makes some clumpsy mistakes but that is it to say that he is not that good and United need another left back so badly.
United no doubt can boast of having so many Midfielders who if were in other clubs will be considered as regular first team players.Players such as Anderson, Kagawa, Nick Powell who joined Wigan on loan yesterday, Cleverly, Giggs, Flecther and Micheal Carrick. This mentioned midfielders are all good in their own capacity, but they all lack one thing which has affected United for so long. They all lack a physical presence in the center of the park. The only exception is maybe Daren Flecther and Anderson, but the latter seems to get tired even before the ball is kicked, which makes him disappear into thin air when the going becomes tough.
United anchor man Darren Fletcher is currently out due to an infection and the club isn't quite sure of his performance when he fully recovers.
Notably the midfield is one area United have not been able to match their rivals who can boast of having goal scoring midfielders. Last season Japanese playmaker Kagawa was the only player to score up to six goals for the team throughout the whole season. One doesn't need to be a prophet to know that United needed to get a goal scoring midfielder and also an anchor man who will shield the defence and put up a fight against players like Yaya Toure of Manchester City and Lucas of Liverpool.
When you look at the United attack, one will notice that United have one of the deadliest and fastest attack in England with Robin Van persie, Wayne Rooney, Welbeck, Young, Valencia and Luis Nani though most of them love to come in from the flank, leaving Van persie as the only recognized front man. The combination of Rooney and Van persie is one that is enough to give a defender heart injury due to the fear of coming up against such dangerous pair.
To prove how much Rooney is valued at the club, United were able to stand firm on the decision to hold on to the striker despite Chelsea continuous enquiry all summer.
With the £27.5m signing of Belgian Marouane Fellaini , Manchester United may have found a long lasting solution to their lingering problem in midfield. And with this problem fixed, Manchester united can now fully compete against any team in Europe knowing fully well that they have fortified their Arsenal and are now ready to fire.
