Mourihno on His arrival at Chelsea

You players have got the chance to be the ones who win the Championship for Manchester United for the first time in 20 years. To do so you have to take over from men like Law and Best and Charlton, or you’ll always walk with their ghosts. It could be your greatest triumph, for you, and for your supporters, if you can emulate those heroes.”

Sir Alex following the death of Sir Matt.
I found him a wonderful and incredible man, a character of substance and charisma. There have been some outstanding managers in this country but without doubt he was the greatest there has ever been. You go through your life and meet maybe half a dozen truly educated people. There are plenty who are educated in one field, but Matt Busby always had a roundness of spirit and education of life. He set the benchmark for those of us who have followed him. Of course there has to be change, but I know I must strive to maintain the core of dignity and class he created. He threw down the gauntlet and said this is the way it should be done, this is Manchester United. People talk about greatness and in football it is a very misused word, but it is what you felt in the presence of Sir Matt Busby. He had an aura. He was the lord of them all. I am just glad we won the League Championship before he died and I am pleased he was at Old Trafford last May to see it.”
''Italians can't win the game against you, but you can lose the game against the Italians''.
Johan Cryuff

Gordon Strachan referring to Wayne Rooney:
“It’s an incredible rise to stardom. At 17 you’re more likely to get a call from Michael Jackson than Sven Goran Eriksson.”

''You can have the top stars to bring the attention, you can have the best stadium, you can have the best facilities, you can have the most beautiful project in terms of marketing and all this kind of thing. But if you don't win... All the work these people are doing is forgotten''. - Jose Mourinho
