HAPPY BIRTHDAY MBOMA !!!!!!!

November 15 may not be remembered for any famous event or achieved landmark.
But in Africa and most especially Cameroon this day is marked and remembered as the birthday of the highest goal scorer in the country's history.
Henri Patrick M'Boma Dem (born November 15, 1970 in Douala, Cameroon) is a former Cameroonian football striker, the former all-time top goal-scorer for the Cameroonian national team.

He started his domestic football career in 1993, and during his career played for Châteauroux, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Metz, Gamba Osaka, Cagliari, Parma, Sunderland (where he scored once against Tottenham Hotspur), Al Ittihad, Tokyo Verdy and Vissel Kobe, before retiring on May 16, 2005.

After first being capped for Cameroon in 1995, M'Boma has scored 33 goals in 57 matches. He played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, and also led Cameroon to the gold medal at the 2000 Olympics, and to victories at the 2000 and 2002 African Nations Cups. He was named African Footballer of the Year for his efforts in 2000. He scored a memorable overhead kick against France in 2000. His special goal trademark goal-scoring celebration was a two-gun shooting spree with both his hands. He was renowned for scoring long distance goals with his powerful left foot.
Patrick Mboma had already played professionally in France, Japan and Italy when he hit his peak in 2000. Early in the year, he led Cameroon to victory in the African Nations' Cup, before the Sydney 2000 tournament kicked off.

Considered outsiders, Cameroon went on a thrilling and unexpected run, with Mboma a pivotal figure. They took on Spain in the final and, despite falling 2-0 behind, came back to win the game on penalties to take the gold medal. In recognition of his role in the success, Mboma was named African Footballer of the Year in 2000.
 Mboma who celebrated his football jubilee this march(24-26) in Cameroon, an event which lasted for 2 days and had a lot of high profile personality in attendant, including the president of Cameroon Paul Biya .
The event was to thank friends, family and well wishers for their support since he began his footballing career in 1990 and being with him during the good and the bad times.
The 41year old will always be remembered in  African for his physical strenght and intimidating statue with which He used in bullying most defenders in the continent.
