David who was signed from Real Madrid by MLS side LA Galaxy in the summer of 2007 has announced that the cup final against Houston Dynamo will be his last in the MLS. And this have sparked a lot of speculations regarding his future as he has also made it clear that retirement is way out of the picture at the moment.
soccer4life takes a look at the clubs currently reported to be interested in securing the services on the former England Captain.
QUEENS PARK RANGERS.
Redknapp was appointed as QPR manager at the weekend, a day after the sacking of Mark Hughes, and later watched from the stands at Old Trafford as his new side lost 3-1 to Manchester United.
QPR's shortage of funds means Redknapp may not be able to sign new players in the January transfer window but he has suggested he could make a move for Beckham.
The former England captain will leave the Los Angeles Galaxy after their MLS Cup final clash with Houston Dynamo next Saturday.
He spent time training under Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspur in January last year, after a proposed loan move from the Galaxy fell through.
"I'm sure he could still play in the Premier League," Redknapp told BBC Radio Five Live.
"He is a top player and a fantastic person. We had him at Tottenham training and he was amazing around the place, absolute class.
QPR's Malaysian owner Fernandes backed Hughes strongly in last summer's transfer window, with Julio Cesar, Jose Bosingwa, Park Ji-sung and Esteban Granero heading a raft of high-profile new arrivals.
As a result, Redknapp says he does not expect to be able to sign many new players in January and may look to take players on loan instead
and David Beckham may just be in that list.
PARIS SAINT GERMAN
PSG sporting director Leonardo worked with Beckham when the former England captain had a second spell on loan at AC Milan last year, and said the “door was open” if the midfielder wanted to move to the French capital.
“He is more than a football player he’s a brand, a pop star. I would always consider him,” Leonardo told the BBC.
“He respects the rules, listens to you and wants the best for the team. That’s why, for me, he is a big example. I worked with him and that’s why I talk about his name.”
PSG was recently taken over by wealthy Qatari backers
“I coached him at AC Milan and we created a good relationship,” Leonardo said of Beckham.
“He is someone that I really appreciate and admire so much his values and everything he has done in football.”
PSG were active over the summer, bringing in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi. Rising star Lucas Moura will join the club in January. So it's clear they aren't going to spare any expense to add star power.
It's unclear what type of demands Beckham is going to make as he approaches the end of his storied career, but Paris Saint-Germain certainly isn't going to get scared away by his asking price, if the club is truly interested in him.
A - LEAGUE CLUB MELBOURNE HEART
The Heart are just one of several A-League teams hoping to land Beckham. A Daily Telegraph report states there are at least four teams from the land down under pursuing him, with hopes he can help that country's league like he did the MLS.
Melbourne Heart CEO Scott Munn has revealed that the club will approach David Beckham about the possibility of him moving to Australia to play in the A-League
Heading to Australia would allow Beckham to further his personal brand yet again. It's one thing he did well during his time in the United States, playing the role of celebrity almost as much as soccer player. Australia is another major market available to him if he wants to go that route.
But the former England captain revealed last week that he had no plans to move to Australia, but that has not prevented Melbourne Heart making their interest known just hours after Beckham announced his imminent departure.
CEO Scott Munn told reporters: "What I can say is that it is certainly real. We are putting forward an offer. It is compelling and the opportunity is here for him to come here.
So it's clear Beckham still has a wide-ranging reach despite being on the back end of his terrific career.
The process is likely going to take some time while Beckham weighs all his options or probably he will have to remain in the States and wait on as he plans to own a stake in one of the Major League Soccer Clubs.
