THE CONSEQUENCES OF ARSENAL DRAW AGAINST EVERTON

Arsenal played out a frustrating goalless draw with Everton a result many Arsenal fans world wide have failed to come to terms with since they thought Everton’s atrocious away record against Arsenal would play a role in giving the home side the edge. In 13 visits to North London, David Moyes had managed just two draws and historically, Arsenal enjoy playing the Toffees more than any other Premier League opposition as they have smashed in 49 goals past the Merseyside outfit.
It was a match that both teams needed and a result that neither team really wanted.

Technically, Tuesday's scoreless English Premier League draw between Arsenal and
Everton at Emirates Stadium will help both teams in their quest for a top-four finish, but considering the tightness of the field, the happiest parties weren't even playing.
On one hand, Arsenal stayed in third place and extended their unbeaten run against Everton to 12 league matches. On the other, the Gunners failed to put four points between themselves and nearest competitors Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
And on one hand, Everton just about stayed alive in their own quest for UEFA Champions League football. But on the other, the Toffees also made their task even tougher.
The score would suggest a drab match, tight teams and a lack of chances. Instead, it was tense and taut, alternating between rugby and football with challenges and chances peppering both ends.
And in the end, of course, the real winners were Chelsea and Spurs.
I see this as two point lost for Arsenal than a point gained, looking at the table, you will realise how tough and fierce the battle for the European Champions league spots really is.

This draw against Everton could turn out to be one that will hurt the team so much, and may cost Arsenal a Champions league spot for the first time in over 10years.
Everton of recent have turned out to be party spoilers, if you clearly remember last season, United's 4 - 4 draw against Everton set the foundation for their lossing the league title to Manchester City.
Looking at the table critically, you will notice that Arsenal has played more matches than Chelsea and Tottenham, though Tottenham outstanding is a giant clash against Manchester City, which I nor any Arsenal fan see Spurs coming out with all three points. But for Chelsea, having two outstanding matches, I definitely see them claiming the third position after they have made up their outstanding.
Though the Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger  insists they remain in a strong position to finish in the Premier League top four despite dropping two points at home to Everton saying "
"We are in a strong position still, but let's win the next game,We can only take care of our results.
"I think we are on a very strong run and as you could see we are ready for a fight, if we keep this fighting spirit, which we will, I am sure we will get there."
With tough matches facing all of the top-four challengers, these surely won't be the last points dropped. Neither team will be satisfied with the draw, though Arsenal—with more to lose having already climbed to third—might rue the result the slightest bit more.
Had Arteta scored the only goal that would have settled the tie, it would have been some headline. Unfortunately, the opportunity was available for Arsenal to give themselves some breathing space from their London rivals vying for Champions League football but it certainly wasn’t taken and so they should be prepared to bear the Consequences that may come up after failing to pick up all three point from one of their easiest opponent in the Premier League.
