IS NANI'S UNITED DAYS COMING TO AN END?

 

Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha popularly known as Nani was bought from sporting lisbon after a spectaclular performance with the portuguese outfit for a reported fee of 25million euros as an understudy and also as a direct replacement for the then Man utd wing wizard Cristiano Ronaldo.

Nani endured a not too fantastic outing against Chelsea on his first competitive debut for Man united in the community shield in which United won 3 - 0 through a penalty shoot out where he came on as a substitute.
Nani opened his united account with a stunning 69th min. strike against Tottenham Hot spurs in a premier league game on 26th August 2007, when he recieved the ball some distance outside the 18yard box and shot straight at goal putting the ball in the far corner of the net beating the helpless spurs goal keeper.
Luis Nani had a fantastic debut season winning the community shield trophy, the premier league and also the Champions league in which he scored one of the penalty during the shootout in Moscow 2008.
   With the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo for a record of £80million to Real Madrid a lot of pressure was laid on the young shoulder of the Micheal Jackson look alike Portuguese player, which at first he seemed be carrying it comfortably but later on started showing signs of ''not being equal to the task''

which forced United to bring in another winger in the person of Ashley Young to ease the pressure and to return the flair which Ronaldo single handed provided for the team.
            With Nani always singled out every ''now and then'' for poor performances notably against Everton and Tottenham this season, and a training ground misconduct with one of the reserves team player. It seems life is becoming uncomfortable for the portuguese at old tradford.
And with rumours and speculations of clubs such as Ac Milan, Benfica, inter Milan and Zenith St petersbough lining up offer for the talented winger, one cannot help but ask the question '' is Nani's United days coming to an end?''
