Today's Super Sunday was no expection, it started with the Game between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs, a game which Totteham looked to be the favourite despite Manchester City's unbeaten run in the premier League, but it was City who got the last laugh by coming from a goal down to win it by 2 goals to 1(It seems Come backs are made in Manchester)
A difficult week for Roberto Mancini and Manchester City ended on a high with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham, extending their unbeaten home league run to 35 games.
Having stumbled one again in the Champions League in midweek against Ajax, the out-of-sorts reigning champions fell behind to Steven Caulker's first-half header.
But Sergio Aguero hauled them level before substitute Edin Dzeko hooked in the winner two minutes from time.
There was a fright for City's defence early when Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor threatened and worse was soon to follow.
Caulker (20) was allowed space to stoop and head Tom Huddlestone's free-kick past the scrambling Joe Hart from six yards, with an uncharacteristic fumble from the City keeper seeing Spurs in front.
City appealed in vain for a penalty for a handball by Willam Gallas before Huddlestone's low thump whistled past the post.
Aleksandar Kolarov's dink floated wide of the far post while Huddlestone's unpunished penalty box body check on Pablo Zabaleta further incensed the home support.
Neither Carlos Tevez nor Zabaleta could seriously test Brad Friedel when given clear sights of goal as City struggled for rhythm.
There was further anguish as Aguero fell over his own feet having broken clear but his aim was true (65) as he coolly slotted past Friedel after getting the break of the ball.
Bale then blazed over and the Welshman took advantage of more defence hestitancy to blast one straight at Hart from 16 yards.
But it was the Tottenham goal that came under siege in the final quarter; Dzeko heading past the upright and Silva firing wide after a jinking run.
Aguero was again denied by Friedel as the tension mounted but the Tottenham keeper was helpless as Dzeko latched onto Silva's clever pass to save the day
Another game which happened to lucky fall into the Super Sunday was the game between Newcastle United and West Ham united.
Were former Bolton and Newcastle striker Kelvin Nolan Single handed sinked Newcastle.
Kevin Nolan enjoyed a happy return to Newcastle as he sealed a 1-0 win for West Ham that sent the east Londoners into the Premier League top six.
The former Magpies midfielder scored shortly before the break, but Sam Allardyce's side were grateful for some wasteful attacking play from Newcastle as they failed to find an equaliser at St James' Park.
Jussi Jaaskelainen almost gifted the hosts an early goal when he dwelled too long on a backpass, but he was rescued by Papiss Cisse's mistimed challenge, while at the other end Nolan's acrobatic attempt was deflected wide.
West Ham enjoyed plenty of possession as the subdued hosts struggled to settle, although the Londoners lacked attacking punch and Yossi Benayoun lashed well wide.
Newcastle offered little invention themselves and appealed hopefully for a penalty when Mike Williamson was knocked off balance by George McCartney in the box.
But a scrappy encounter was ignited by Newcastle old boy Nolan in the 37th minute as he turned in Joey O'Brien's low shot at the back post with the home side appealing in vain for offside.
Nolan almost struck again soon afterwards, curling just over the top corner, while the Magpies finally threatened as Shane Ferguson's shot was blocked before Hatem Ben Arfa's drive was deflected into the side-netting.
Demba Ba thought he had scored shortly after the restart until Jaaskelainen somehow clawed the striker's towering header off the line.
Ba again tried to beat the Finn and his low shot drifted wide, but West Ham remained a threat as Mohamed Diame scooped over and Gary O'Neil nodded at Tim Krul.
There was little respite for either defence as substitute Shola Ameobi headed wide and Ben Arfa tested Jaaskelainen, while Krul then had to save superbly to deny a clean-through Carroll.
The home faithful were becoming increasingly agitated and they endured further frustration when Yohan Cabaye lashed a late effort over the bar
The Final Game of the day which by no doubt was the Match of the day, was the Game between Chelsea Fc and Liverpool Fc.
A game which reminded us of what Liverpool used to be like some years back.
Though the fun of the game was almost spoilt when Chelsea's skipper John Terry had to leave the field due to injury.
John Terry set Chelsea on the way to a 1-1 draw with Liverpool before his return from a four-match domestic ban was cut short by a nasty injury at Stamford Bridge.
The defender headed the Blues into a 20th-minute lead from Juan Mata's corner but was stretchered off the field 15 minutes later with what appeared to be knee ligament damage after a collision with Luis Suarez.
And the Liverpool striker rubbed salt in the wounds when he nodded in an equaliser in the 73rd minute after Jamie Carragher flicked on a Suso corner.
The Reds had the lion's share of possession in the opening 45 minutes but it took until first-half stoppage time for them to muster a shot on goal, Steven Gerrard's low drive through a crowded penalty area easily held by Petr Cech.
Chelsea missed a glorious chance to take the lead in the seventh minute when Joe Allen was caught in possession and Eden Hazard fed Oscar only for the Brazilian to spoon his shot over with only Brad Jones to beat.
But Terry made no mistake on 20 when he was left in acres of space to meet Mata's corner with a thumping header which gave Jones no chance.
The Blues could have been 2-0 up on 28 minutes had Jones not produced a stunning point blank save from Fernando Torres after fine work from Hazard.
The hosts had their tails up but a five minute delay as Terry was treated on the field took the sting out of the game and it remained scrappy until the interval.
Chelsea threatened to run away with the game after the restart as Mata fired a shot narrowly wide and Torres' glancing header from an Oscar free-kick forced Jones to save with his feet.
Daniel Agger planted a header straight at Cech in a rare chance for the Reds before the hosts went close again with Torres just failing to guide a low Ryan Bertrand cross in and Mata's free-kick going wide via touches from Jones and John Obi Mikel.
But Suarez would have the final say with a simple header from two yards and although Chelsea pressed for a winner the closest they came was when Branislav Ivanovic header over from a Mata corner.
And as the Blues left space at the back, Cech had to be alert to race off his line and clear ahead of Suarez as he chased down Jose Enrique's punt forward while Hazard drilled wide from 20 yards at the death.
And deep into stoppage time Enrique had a brilliant chance to snatch the spoils for Liverpool but Cech saved low to his right at full-stretch.
After the Super Sunday all mangers in the Premier League will have the fingers crossed as some of their key players depart to join up their National teams for the international break, and be hoping the players return back to their clubs in good shape and condition as the title race enters into another crucial stage.
