THE CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS

The battle line have been drawn and the stage is ready with thousands of spectators already on their seat with millions of others worldwide are set to adore in front of the Television set to witness the breathe taking clash between the Champions of Europe Chelsea and the Champions of England Manchester City. The last time this sort of battle took place was in 2006 when Liverpool won the champions League and Chelsea won the English premiership title.
You maybe wondering why, its simply because on the other two occasions the Champion League trophy came to England, the same club also won the Premiership.
A little more spice has been added to the occasion by the renewal of rivalry between old foes, Rafa Benitez and Manchester City football club.

Benitez who took over from Roberto Di M atteo on Thursday morning will no doubt be unhappy to encounter such a difficult fixture as he marks His return to the Barclay's premier League, who knows? Maybe the way fate has chosen to reward him for all the ugly comments he made towards Chelsea when he was at Liverpool.
Manchester City come into this game with fresh wounds from their champions league exit at the hands of Real Madrid last week, though their premier league form has be commendable, having played 12 games recorded 8 wins and 4 draws and scored a total of 25 against 10 conceded making them the lowest in the league in terms of goals conceded.
While Chelsea who are on the brink of not defending the UEFA Champions League trophy just 6 months after winning it have not had the best of forms lately in the league, winning just 1 in their last 3 matches.
But with the appointment of Spanish Manager Rafa Benitez, Abrahmovic and his Blue army will be hoping that Old things have passed away and a change in fortune is eminent.
With Benitez claiming he has the magic to restoring Fernando Torres back to his Liverpool days where he score 81 goals in 142 appearance against his 19 so far for Chelsea, Manchester United Boss Sir Alex will be hoping that magic starts working immediately so as to see Chelsea rub some point off City.
No matter the final outcome of this fixture, it will forever go down into the book as one of the premier League's classic fixtures.
